Transsexualism in Poland

Aim: Propagation of knowledge about medical and legal barriers to receiving specialized transgender care in Poland.

Method: Analysis of Polish legislation on sex conversion process, including initial statutes from 1973, 1989, and 2005.


Writing up court evaluations for intoxicated physicians

Aim: Evaluate disciplinary records from 2010-2016 cases of intoxicated physicians to understand prevalence and characteristics of malpractice.

Method: Retrospective chart review and meta-analysis of forensic records.


Deaths in the course of asphyxiation

Aim: Expand understanding of the phenomenon of erotic asphyxiation in recent forensic cases of Polish autopsy cases.

Method: Clinical collaborative work with Lublin Voivodeship Coroner’s office to assess prevalence of death by self-choking in Poland.


Digital communities of zoophiles    

Aim: Describe social vignette of zoophiles who discuss their sexuality on discussion boards.

Method: Mixed qualitative and quantitative text and survey analysis. 


Zoophilia as a legal phenomenon - should zoophiles have the right to marry animals?

Aim: Extrapolating from Hani Miletski’s 2017 article in the Archives of Sexual Behaviors, the goal is to investigate the bio-legal perspective for normalizing relationships between humans and non-human animals.

Method: Legal writing, based on psychiatric, legal, ethical, and sociological sources.


Digital communities of pedophiles

Aim: Describe social vignette of pedophiles who discuss their sexuality on discussion boards.

Method: Mixed qualitative and quantitative text and survey analysis.


Cross-cultural study of BDSM: a comparative study of U.S. and Polish homosexual sex players.

Aim: Compare Polish and U.S. gay sadomasochists who actively dating — with emphasis on describing how verbal/written/implied consent affect engaging in safe-sex practices.

Method: Mixed qualitative and quantitative text and survey analysis.


Infodemiology of U.S. Veteran’s Affairs psychiatric services.

Aim: Develop online screening program for veterans who are victims of sexual trauma, and enroll them in outpatient counseling. 

Method: Mixed qualitative and quantitative text and survey analysis, clinical assessments, clinical trial.


Law and paraphilias

Aim: Elaborate on the bio-legal, social, and ethical aspects concerning romantic relationships of zoophiles.

Method: Legal writing, based on psychiatric, legal, ethical, and sociological sources.


Live-streaming of suicides

Aim: Develop pipeline for screening video blog services to identify people at risk of committing suicide.

Method: Algorithmic screening of the web; digital intervention in the form of encrypted semi-structured video interview;
